      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p data-start="162" data-end="425">Final approval has been granted for a new Lidl supermarket in Loughrea, following a recent decision by An Bord Plean&aacute;la. The development, originally approved by Galway County Council earlier this year, faced an appeal from local residents and retail group RGDATA.</p>
<p data-start="427" data-end="640">The new store will be built on a greenfield site off the R350, located between the town centre and the bypass. Concerns were raised about potential traffic congestion and the impact on footfall in the town centre.</p>
<p data-start="642" data-end="889">RGDATA argued that the plan contradicts the Government&rsquo;s &ldquo;Town Centre First&rdquo; policy and could undermine local businesses. Despite these objections, An Bord Plean&aacute;la has now ruled in favour of the development, allowing the project to move forward.</p>]]></content:encoded>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>After delivering outstanding service to the community of Loughrea and its surrounding areas over the past four years, LCRfm 102.9 has been awarded a third one hundred-day FM license by broadcasting authority Coimisi&uacute;n na Me&aacute;n.</p>
<p>This milestone is a testament to the incredible dedication of the stations volunteers and members, whose tireless efforts make LCRfm the vibrant and cherished community station it is today. Their passion and commitment have enabled LCRfm to provide high-quality programming that resonates with their listeners and enriches our community.</p>
<p>The new license comes into effect today, Saturday, 22nd June, and allows the station to broadcast on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am each day on 102.9fm. The station will of course continue to stream live online along side the FM broadcast, with additional show's available online during weekday evenings.</p>
<p>As always, the stations enthusiastic team will ensure that their broadcasts continue to entertain and inform, both on FM and online. You can tune in live on LCRfm.ie or via their app, available on iOS and Android, and even ask Alexa to play LCRfm.</p>
<p>In addition to their live broadcasts, the station offers a superb "Listen Back" service, providing all shows at your fingertips 24/7 worldwide. This service is made possible by the dedicated efforts of the team, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that the radios content is accessible and enjoyable for everyone.</p>

Caroline Kelly is originally from Gurtymadden but has since become a citizen of Sydney. he co-founded PanKind, the Australian Cancer Foundation in 2008 which focuses on positive change in the lives of pancreatic cancer patients. It&rsquo;s to erect two gates to stop dumping in a field adjacent to Fahy Gardens. There was such a volume of rubbish dumped there recently that four skips were needed to take it away.There&rsquo;s also been complaints of giant rats in the estate as a result of the massive build-up of waste. Councillor Declan Kelly said residents of Fahy Gardens have been putting up with the situation for far too long.</p>]]></content:encoded>
